SureThik Thickening Eyebrow Fibers

New month, new brows? Over the last couple of weeks, I’ve been trying out a new and completely different eyebrow product from what I usually use! I usually fill out my brows with a pencil so I was super excited to give SureThik’s thickening eyebrow fibers (CAD$ 29.99) a go.

A little bit about SureThik, they are a Canadian brand and all their products are formulated and made in Canada!

Their eyebrow fibers kit, which is available in several shades from blonde to dark brown, comes with a handy double ended brush, a little wax container, the wax is made of 100% Natural Beeswax as well as the thickening eyebrow fibers which is made of 100% Natural Keratin fibers! The Thickening eyebrow fibers are meant to enhance your brows and are said to be sweat proof and smudgeproof.

Unlike an eyebrow pencil, this product requires a two step application. First, you have to apply the wax where you want definition using the little brush. Then, using the other end (both sides are labelled which is really convenient), you have to dab the fibers where you had previously applied the wax. Note: Brushing/Painting it on like a pomade will lead to clumps. It’s not meant to be brushed on, don’t do it!

I really enjoyed trying out the eyebrow fibers, this is the first time I’ve tried a product of its kind and it was an interesting experience. They really did fill out the gaps in my eyebrows and it looked quite natural albeit my messy application and unruly brows! The wax applies on smoothly and doesn’t feel sticky! Though, it does make more time than just using a regular eyebrow pencil and is a little tricky to apply! It does take some practice but that’s nothing new when it comes to makeup application!

Top: My brows are currently growing so there is a lot of gaps and stray hairs. Bottom: Using the eyebrow fibers in Dark Brown, I tried to fill out the gaps and it made my brows fuller.

Also, the application can be a little messy. I’d recommend to any contact wearers to be careful, don’t put too much fibers on the brush because it is annoying if it gets into your eyes (First hand testimony haha). Build the brows gradually! It will look much more natural as well.

Overall, I found it to be a really cool product, I think it would be perfect for anyone with gaps or very little to no brows!

Dior Spring 2018 Glow Addict: Lip Glows

One of my very first high end lip products was Dior’s Lip Glow (CAD $41). I was only in middle school and I remember begging my mom to buy it for Christmas since it was “so cool mom, it is a colour changing lip balm!” Back then I didn’t realize that it wasn’t just a colour changing lip balm. Dior’s Lip Glow reacts to one’s lip to enhance the natural colour in addition to giving it a gorgeous tint. And I surely didn’t know that in the future I would carry a lip glow with me in my bag almost all the time. So one can imagine my excitement in trying Dior’s new selection of lip glows released as part of their Glow Addict collection!

L-R: Matte Raspberry, Raspberry, Ultra Pink, Holo Pink & Holo Purple

Over the last couple of weeks I’ve been using testing them out and I love that now in addition to new shades, Dior’s Lip Glow which previously only came in a satin finish now comes in two new amazing ones, holographic and matte! The new shades are Holo Pink (Holographic), Holo Purple (Holographic), Matte Raspberry (Matte), Raspberry (Satin) and Ultra Pink (Satin).

Packaged in a signature pink case, with the Dior logo embossed in it. Dior’s Lip Glow has been a cult favorite since its release!

L-R: Holo Purple, Holo Pink, Ultra Pink, Raspberry & Matte Raspberry

The original satin finish is super comfortable and moisturizing. The new Raspeberry and Ultra Pink shades are absolutely stunning. I thought I would like the Raspberry shade more since I thought it would be on the deeper side but I actually love the way Ultra Pink makes my lips “pop”!

As for the Holographic finish, I was a little skeptical as I am not a big fan of glimmery lips but it has the same comfortable and moisturizing feeling! And the glimmers aren’t tacky, instead it really does make your lips seem iridiscent and as if they were reflecting light.

Swatches shown in natural light

As for the matte finish, it is the one I was most looking forward to! I love matte lips so I knew I had to try it! I love how pigmented Matte Raspberry is and how the matte finish feels similar to the korean powder lipsticks/lip tint especially with its blurring effect! Though unlike the other two finishes, I found that it didn’t feel as moisturizing and that I had to reapply more frequently. Despite the fact, it’s probably the one I currently use the most!

Dior’s Lip Glows are available at all official Dior retailers and if there is one lip item to splurge on, this is might be the one!

Givenchy Photo’Perfexion Fluid Foundation

A couple of months ago, Givenchy Beauty launched their foundations on the Canadian market. Now that my skin is less of a dry mess (Stress + harsh cold weather this year were not a good mix for my skin, my skin felt so rough and any face makeup (even my go to blush) would appear blotchy and flaky) I’ve finally been able to put the Photo’Perfexion line to the test over the last couple of weeks. This foundation promises a natural flawless complexion with a radiant finish!

Packaged in a glass bottle with the G for Givenchy enscribed in pretty gold glitter on the cap, the Givenchy Photo’Perfexion Fluid Foundation (CAD$62) is equipped with a pump which makes for easy application. It is also small enough to be travel friendly!

Now I consider myself lucky as I don’t always have to wear foundations but there are days where I like to have that flawless look and want to hide unsightly blemishes (I pop my pimples and yes I know it’s awful) I don’t wear any heavy foundation either. I usually go for medium coverage foundations to cover any left over dark spots/blemishes. This foundation does just that.

It offers nice and light coverage, so light that it feels practically bare on the skin and it has no cakey feel to it either. Though, I do strongly recommend wearing a good moisturizer underneath as if you have dry skin, as any foundation it can settle in blotches. It also has a nice light floral scent which personally I really enjoyed. It’s like a perfume for my face!!

My only major remark is that the shade range is a little weird. There’s nine shades but unfortunately they all seem to be a variation of beige for the most part. I’m the shade 7 Perfect Gold in the range which is the darkest colour and I wouldn’t say that I’m very dark so a bigger variety of shades would be much appreciated and appeal to more beauty lovers.

Overall, I think Givenchy’s Photo’Perfexion is a nice high end foundation for someone looking for something light to polish and accentuate their natural features although the price is a little on the steep end for the amount of product.

Have you tried any of Givenchy’s foundations? They can be found at Sephora Canada.

Palmer’s Coconut Oil Formula Bodycare Products (+Giveaway)

Love me some coco-nut! As a girl with roots to an island, coconut has always been a part of my life. As a child, my grandma and aunts would put coconut oil in my hair, we cook with it and drink the water, etc. One of my all time favourite shampoo and body lotion was coconut scented and I longed to find something that had that same sweet refreshing scent until I discovered Palmers’s products.

From smooth creamy body butter to lotions and oils, Palmer’s has a range of affordable coconut-based products made from ethically and sustainably sourced Coconut oil and Tahitian Monoï oil. In addition, each product also contains sweet almond oil and vitamin E to leave looking and feeling radiant. Palmer’s products are also free of any harsh chemicals which is great for people who like more natural based products.

I have been testing three of their products, the Palmer’s Coconut Oil Formula Body Oil (CAD $5.99) , Body Lotion (CAD $5.99) and Body Cream (CAD $7.99).

The Palmer’s Coconut Oil Formula Body Oil came in a spray bottle which made application super easy and the oil felt much lighter and finer as well. I used it post shower and it made my skin nice and smooth. I didn’t even have to use a body cream/body lotion afterwards.

The Palmer’s Coconut Oil Body Lotion also has a very light airy feel to it. A little goes a long way with it. I found that it easily absorbs into your skin and makes it nice and healthy. This is one of the product keeping my skin hydrated this winter!

The Palmer’s Coconut Oil Formula Body cream is very thick and creamy, it’s definitely on the heavier side and perfect for those cold harsh dry days. It feels heavy duty to me but once again it’s super hydrating and leaves my skin feeling smooth and healthy for hours. It’s perfect for those with very dry and rough skin.

Overall, their affordable price, amazing coconut scent (seriously I can’t get enough!) and the fact that they are made from ethically and sustainably sourced coconut oil put these products on top of my list of bodycare products.

Palmer’s products are available for sale at Walmart.

Halloween Nails ft. Whats Up Nails Stencils + Free Nails Stencils

*Samples featured. All thoughts and opinions are my own and unbiased.

Halloween is in exactly 14 days and I’m actually super excited for it (though I have absolutely no clue what I will be doing for it as of right now). But I do love dressing up if I can, or even just through accessorizing or doing my makeup a little more spooky! It’s just such a fun holiday.

This year I know for a fact it will include nail art, courtesy of Nail Polish Canada who sent me these cute nail graveyard theme vinyls/stencils (each pack comes with 20 nail vinyls and retails for CAD $5.65).

Look how perfectly cute and spooky they are.

They are super easy to use, even for beginners (because frankly I suck at nail art, I really do, I only recently got the hang of shaping my nails myself). You can use it as a stencil or a vinyl! Totally up to you. You can be as creative as possible.

I used it as a vinyl and created this easy and quick bloody-esque and roughed up creation! Nail polishes used are Dior’s Skyline 848 and Formula X in Dainty.

Looks fun, no? They were nice enough to send me a coupon code for 10 FREE (including shipping and everything) stencils. So if you want to give it a try, claim yours below!

Get them here using this code: BVTRXG79C3QF8 (valid for the first 10 people and Canadian residents only!)

Seriously, there’s no catch! Go get your own spooky nail vinyls!

Esqido Lashes in BFF & Black Magic

*PR sample(s) featured but as always all opinions are my own and unbiased.

Fluttery butterfly wing like lashes are everyone’s (maybe almost everyone) dream. Personally, I love long lashes but they have to appear natural. So I was always hesitant to try false lashes until Esqido reached out to me.

Esqido eyelashes are made with super soft mink (that are cruelty free) which make them appear not only like natural lashes but make them practically weightless as well. They also are made with soft cotton strips for ultimate comfort and packaged in the cutest rosegold and white packaging.

For a beginner and a contact lenses wearer, false lashes seemed really challenging. I’m not going to lie, I had some trouble in the beginning. At first, I couldn’t even decide on a style, but then I found Esqido’s online lash guide which talks about different styles and different eye shapes and it made choosing my perfect pair (or pairs in this case) really easy.

Givenchy AW 17 L’Autre Noir: Le Rouge Sculpt and Le Rouge

*PR sample featured. All opinions and thoughts featured are mine and unbiased.

Ombré, ombré hair, ombré nails, ombré jeans and now ombré lips! Givenchy is making ombré lips easier than ever with their new and innovative line of Le Rouge Sculpt Two-toned lipsticks (CAD$45). Givenchy’s new line of two-toned lipsticks features 5 stylish shades in different colour combinations, with the darker colour enriched with the Noire Revelateur formula.

What does it do? With it’s light core and darker edge, the Rouge sculpt is meant to contour, contrast as well as add volume in addition to giving an ombre effect to one’s pout. The lighter shade highlights the center point of the lips where the darker shades gives definition to one’s lips.

Kenzo World, the Kenzo Spirit embodied in a fragrance

The last time I tried a Kenzo Fragrance was probably sometime in the early 2000’s. My aunt had an array of them and I’d steal a spritz at times. I remember this fact clearly because Kenzo’s fragrance bottles were always a sight to behold with their often peculiar designs. The latest fragrance, Kenzo World Eau de Parfum ($105 for 50 ml) stays true to that philosophy.
