One of my earliest beauty memories was me tippy toeing over the dresser in my aunt’s room to steal and play with her array of fragrances. There was one fragrance in particular that I remember the most because it eventually became my holy grail fragrance, Dior’s Hypnotic Poison. Ever since, I have tried all the Poisons, and Hypnotic remained the ultimate winner. Though, Dior’s latest addition to this amazing fragrance collection, Poison Girl (CAD $72 for the 30ml) looks to contest that position.
Givenchy’s Live Irrésistible is back for Spring 2017 but even more gourmand than before with its brand new Eau de Parfum Délicieuse (CAD $125 for 75ml). I love the original and the EDT but this new fragrance is much more addicting than its predecessors. It is so sweet and gourmand that it makes my sweet tooth crave for a sweet snack.
Containing sweet top notes including cherries and french madeleines accord (aka one of my favourite french pastries); followed by notes of essential rose, orange blossom, bitter almonds, vanilla beans, tonka beans and orris root, it has the perfect mix of delectable with a slightly spicy kick to it.
It is packaged in the signature glass Live Irrésistible bottle but this time with a twist. The bottom is tinted pink to really embrace and showcase the sweet feminine scent that it contains.
I found that it is not a scent for the faint heart as it does come off as strong before mellowing out. While it is sweet, it is not overly sugary nor does it feel overwhelmingly fruity. It is a nice blend of sweet, fruity and floral. To be noted, it does smell stronger and feel more concentrated that the other versions, and as such I found that it lasts longer on the skin.
Givenchy’s Live Irrésistible Eau de Parfum Délicieuse is now available at Sephora.ca and the Bay.

I know what you’re all thinking, like didn’t she have a blogpost about Gentlemen Only already? Well as seasons change so do fragrances. For fall, it is not about being refreshing unlike spring’s Parisian Break EDT, it is about being sensuous, passionate, bold, and the absolute best. Givenchy embodies all of that with their newest addition to the Gentlemen Only line with their new men’s fragrance, Absolute.
Seductive, enchanting, and haute couture… the latest fragrance for women from Givenchy for fall 2016 is the embodiment of luxury in a bottle. The timeless fragrance Dahlia Divin now comes as a Nectar de Parfum.
Dripped in luxury, the bottle is adorned with golden flakes, and amazingly, the fragrance itself has a gold tinged. Gold thread adorns the neck of the bottle and engraved on a golden plate is the signature Dahlia Divin namesake. An absolutely stunning and luxurious packaging that I can’t get enough of.
As the title suggests, I was lucky enough to have the chance to attend another Givenchy event which was once again hosted by Dave Lackie a.k.a beauty editor extraordinaire and one of the nicest person on the planet. (Totally out of context but funny enough the last event I talked about was Givenchy too🙈). Check him out on davelackie.com for amazing contests and for the chance to even attend one of his events!
Onto the Art of Pefumery which was amazing from the very first step into the room at Arcadian Court. From gorgeous roses everywhere to cocktails inspired by the fragrances that were displayed to candy stations, it was simply magical.
Midterms are over, and spring is finally here! I can almost feel the warmth of the summer despite the onslaught of snow we’re currently getting. It can’t get anymore exciting now, can it? Well, it can! I’m so excited to share an exclusive first look of Givenchy’s latest limited edition fragrance for Spring/Summer 2016, the new reformulated Gentlemen Only EDT Parisian Break.
This new fragrance is meant to represent the elegance and freshness of spring, it also represents “a sweet carefree escapade in the bustling City of Light along the river of Seine”. It’s a refreshing new Eau de Toilette described as the perfect embodiment for all the gentlemen out there. Beauty editor Dave Lackie describes it as “a gin and tonic” in a fragrance.
Have you ever wanted to know and learn about the magic that goes on at exclusive dinners and events hosted to launch new makeup and fragrances? If the answer to that question is yes, then keep reading!
Last night, I had the chance to attend the exclusive Givenchy Live Irrésistible EDP Canadian Launch event at the Arcadian Loft in Toronto courtesy of the amazing Dave Lackie, Editor of BEAUTY the guide and Cityline beauty expert. This was my second time at one of his events and it didn’t disappoint. From the magnificent setting to a menu created by Oliver & Bonacini, everything was picturesque.
